Summary
This short course provides sixth form, university and college staff and students with an up to date understanding of Autistic Spectrum Conditions and how a student might display difficulties associated with autism. This course covers the range of differences that may be exhibited in young men and women with autism and also comorbidity with other conditions. The course also includes important strategies for minimising stress and anxiety and enabling an autistic person to function well as an FE student.
Aim
- For sixth form, university and college staff and students to gain knowledge and understanding of how and why an autistic student may behave the way they do.
- To dispel myths around autism.
- To enable students and staff to feel comfortable and confident in their interactions with any student with an autistic spectrum condition and to be able to offer appropriate support.

This course is suitable for anyone who studies alongside, tutors or supports an individual with an autistic spectrum condition.
