This course is suitable for, anyone who works in an Early Years setting

 

This course provides staff in early years settings with an understanding of the full range of ways that Autism might be displayed in a young child.

Aim:  For attendees to develop the knowledge and confidence to identify key indicators and know which interventions will be helpful. 

Content

An overview of Autistic Spectrum Conditions, including:

·Diagnostic Criteria

·How girls may present differently from boys

The importance of early interventions, including:

·Ways to reduce anxiety

·Developing play skills

·Developing social communication skills

·Developing language

·Understanding and addressing sensory-related behaviours

·Changing behaviours 

           ·Raising the issue with parents
