Increasingly mainstream primary schools are accepting children who might in the past have accessed a specialist setting.
Many mainstream primary school teachers currently feel inadequately prepared for meeting the needs of such children.
This training is aimed at providing a starting point for understanding each individual profile; the strengths and the needs of children who appear to require a somewhat different kind of education and then putting a curriculum and timetable together.
Key strategies for teaching such children and also managing any behaviours are also included.
This training is all about meeting those needs and everyone involved feeling more confident and comfortable.
The following issues will be covered during this training:
Identify individual strengths and needs.
Creating a personalised inclusive timetable that merges with the mainstream curriculum.
Unpicking and addressing any behaviours that may be acting as a barrier to inclusion and/or learning.

Know how to plan and provide for all children, whatever their learning difficulty or disability to make measurable progress within a mainstream setting.
