Supporting well-being is an essential part of high quality care and education. This insightful course introduces a powerful theory of well-being that supports practitioners caring for young children with additional needs. The theory is straightforward, easy to remember yet deep enough to help practitioners to identify situations that undermine well-being and devise new strategies to support well-being.
On completing this course practitioners will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of the three needs of Self-determination theory
- Apply this understanding to identify situations in the classroom or environment that undermine wellbeing
- Demonstrate the use of self-determination theory to find new strategies to support wellbeing
- Collaborate with other team members to support wellbeing in new ways.
