Course delivered by live video conferencing
This course is suitable for teachers and senior leaders in Primary, Secondary and Special School Settings
The course will start by looking at reactions to the posts on the "Everyone’s Invited" website and what they show us about our attitudes and our knowledge of our students’ lives.
We will ask how well you think your school meets the needs of your pupils
A Self-assessment toolkit for schools and colleges about dealing with harmful sexual behaviours will be shown and discussed.
The findings of the recent OFSTED Inspection on the Safeguarding in a sample of schools will be discussed
What are our responsibilities? We will examine two levels of responsibility:
Dealing with immediate issues – how well does your school listen and support?
Suggestions for building in further methods and opportunities.
Education for long term cultural change – how are you finding the new RSHE statutory Guidance?
We will go through the main provisions and discuss whether our teaching about relationships can be made more directly relevant to students’ lives by using some of the Everyone’s Invited material as a resource.
