Course delivered by Video Conferencing via "Teams"
This course offers practical support and ideas for all teachers and TAs working with students with complex needs, giving them tools to predict the kinds of behaviour they may expect based on an individual’s diagnostic profile.
·It starts by summarising the challenges faced by students with diagnoses of any of the following:
Autistic Spectrum Disorders (including PDA)
ADHD
SEMH
Attachment issues
SpLD (dyslexia and dyspraxia)
·looks at how these can combine, and co-exist with different degrees of learning difficulty, to
produce complex individual profiles of need.
·examines common underlying problems - such as Sensory Integration Disorder, Communication difficulties and Anxiety
·discusses teaching approaches and helpful interventions.
