This course is suitable for anyone supporting children and young people with Pathological Demand Avoidance or Demand Avoidant behaviours – including carers, foster carers, residential home providers, teachers and pastoral staff.

Delegates will be given strategies to help provide sanctuary, structure and nurture.
Summary of the course:
Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is a complex Autism Spectrum Condition characterised by anxiety driven need to be in control. Children and young people with PDA need a different approach to the ones used with other Autism Spectrum conditions. This course will teach learners how PDA differs from other types of autism. Most importantly the course will teach effective strategies to ensure that those who work with children and young people with PDA can support them to help them meet their potential and manage their behaviour.
