Successful Multi-Sensory Sessions

This multi sensory training workshop will show how to plan and execute sessions in the Multi-Sensory Environment when working with either adults or children. The day would be a very useful follow up to the “Understanding the Multi- Sensory Concept” programme but this is by no means essential. The workshop will be a mixture of theory and practice and will include the use of Shadow Puppetry, Sensory Stories and Sensory Life Experiences

  • About sensory systems and the impact of impairment
  • About engagement levels and how to measure progress
  • Levels of attention and engagement
  • How to use a thematic approach

Outcomes of the course:

  • Knowledge about how to structure a multi-sensory session
  • Different ideas about using the room
  • The ability to teach simple concepts to users
  • The ability to measure progress in a number of ways
