Sensory Play and Leisure in the Multi-Sensory Environment

The Multi-Sensory Environment offers a safe, comfortable space for sensory play experiences for children and young people with severe and multiple disabilities. This workshop will be useful for Early Years Workers, Play and Youth Workers, Teachers and Support Assistant or carers or parents who have access to a Multi-Sensory facility. This course would be a useful follow on for the 'Practical and Effective Ways of Using Multi-sensory Equipment' programme but this is by no means essential.
Find out:
- The Importance of sensory work in our interactions with children and young people
- How to structure the session
- How to develop sensory themes and sensory stories
- How to develop and use a collection of low-cost sensory materials
Outcomes of the course:
- A practical understanding of the appropriate and enjoyable use of sensory work
- Practical ideas and information you can put into practice right away
- First hand experience of developing themes and using sensory materials
- The first stages of a sensory resource folder to share with carers and colleagues
Cost of course (includes lunch, refreshments and supporting notes)
£185 (+ Vat) for the 1st place & £165 (+ Vat) for 2nd & subsequent places.
