LEARNING OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
The Learner should be able to : The Learner can:
1.  Recognise the main characteristics of behaviours of people with Asperger's Syndrome 1.1 Describe certain characteristic behaviours
2. Know the diagnostic criteria and the pathway to diagnosis for Asperger's Syndrome 2.1  Apply the diagnostic criteria to a known service user to examine its relevance
3.Understand the Triad of impairment

3.1 Explain each facet of the Triad of Impairment and its implication for people with Asperger's Syndrome.

3.2 Map an individual onto the Triad of Impairment.

4.  Appreciate the complexity of social interaction with particular focus on non-verbal communication, listening skills and conversational skills. 4.1 Evaluate the social skills of an individual with Asperger's Syndrome and review supporting strategies including social stories
5. Understand the difficulties that people with Asperger's Syndrome have in making changes and problem solving 5.1 Analyse strategies to support people in making changes and solving problems
6. Understand that people with Asperger's Syndrome often have high levels of anxiety 6.1 Examine and review different ways of achieving relaxation
7 Appreciate the sensory differences of people with Asperger's Syndrome 7.1 Examine and review environments and approaches with regard to sensory differences
