How You Will Benefit:
Conflict between human beings is as old as human life itself. To be human means that we will invevitably come into conflict. However, conflict does not have to be terribly stressful; something to evoke fear. It will make us aware of the fact that we are different in any number of ways from other people. Working with and dealing positively with our differences already takes us into the theatre of conflict. It is very important that we understand the nature of conflict if we are to find resolution from it. This workshop will approach conflict resolution by consideration of the way that we think about it, by our values, an array of analytical and interpersonal skills, and a clear focus:
- Develop a more comprehensive understanding of the nature of conflict
- Recognise the differences between avoiding, managing and resolving conflict; understanding why and when it is better to choose one than another
- Gaining a greater flexibility of thinking when face with difficult, conflicting situations; approaching these situations with a positive, rather than negative and fearful attitude
- Gain self-confidence by successfully crossing the barrier of insecurity and working positively with conflict
- Develop more effective communication skills
- Family, friends and colleagues will develop a greater degree of trust and confidence in you
- Face any life situation with more confidence

- When conflict resolution should give way to conflict management
- How to avoid 'cranking up' the conflict by understanding and working appropriately with emotions

- An Approach to thinking which is at the same time flexible and well focused
