For Young People with Special Needs

An 'In House' summer activity for between 1 - 5 days

The Facilitators: Colin Troy and Eric Klein

Colin has 30 years of experience working in education, extensive experience of staff training and staff supervision and appraisal and has qualified teacher status for learning difficulties in mainstream.  He has specialist qualifications in Steiner teaching for special needs and has attended Masterclass seminars in NLP and Autism Symtomology of Aspergers.

Eric has worked for 30 years a a practicing musician, composer, conductor, teacher and consultant.  His experience with special needs clients ranges from young children to the care of the elderly.  He has composed for and worked with a variety of movement activities and art forms.  He is currently working as a consultant, delivering workshops to a variety of organisations, including those caring for or training people of all ages with special needs, focussing on such issues as communications, team building and leadership using the performing arts.

Suitable for children and young people with moderate and severe learning difficulties (also suitable for students with physical disabilities) ages 11 upwards.  the programme would provide for 10-12 students including two members of staff.  Additional numbers would need additional suitable adult help.

The programme could be run for 1 day, 2 days or an entire week (Monday to Friday)

The programme will include:

  • Scenery painting, costumes and props
  • Simple mask making and make up
  • Voice choir
  • Percussion band
  • Story telling
  • Multi-sensory and ICT
  • There will be a performance at the end of each programme whether 1,2 or 5 days.

Cost of programme:

First or single day: £1500 (ex vat)

Second day: £1200 (ex vat)

Subsequent days: £1000 (ex vat) 

These costs are inclusive of all expenses and materials
