Effective Behaviour Strategies for Early Years

Target audience: Teachers, TA's and practitioners in Early Years Settings (Nursery Schools, Children's Centres, Foundation Stage Units and Reception Classes)

Outline of training:

  • To explore and develop appropriate strategies to support young children in managing their own behaviour 
  • To promote the social development of young children through play

Course Content:

  • Routines and strategies 
  • Working with parents and carers
  • Play with a difference
  • Supportive Strategies and effective limit setting

Course includes an effective combination of:

  • Practical tasks
  • Role play
  • Reflective Discussion
  • Action planning for future practise

Outcomes:

Tasks are set at the end of the training session in order to encourage practitioners to further develop techniques which will support their interactions with children.  The training makes direct links to the Webster-Stratton approach to behaviour management.  During the training, links are also made to:

  • EMC
  • The EYFS and Key Elements of Effective Practice (KEEP)
