Every communication requires an act of listening. We could argue that listening lies at the foundation of effective communication. If we were to consider the importance of listening in light of the often dyer results of ineffective communication, then the act of listening can be seen as vitally important in the interrelationshiops of human beings at every level. This course will deal with listening as art and science; listening to both verbal and non-verbal communications. The participants will learn to use their powers of listening to reach across the seeming abyss to another human being; draw the message out and create the space for human interaction to flourish:
- Understand the importance of listening in effective communication
- Discover how powerful you become through listening
- Listening as a path towards the self-confidence and self-esteem that comes from the ability to positively influence others
- Learning to use listening as a tool for mediating conflict
- Listening can become a means to achieve better mental and physical health through the reduction of stress and better relationships
- Develop stronger and more meaningful relationships
- Become a very highly valued and trustworthy colleague or leader
